The 2012 Barking and Dagenham Business Awards celebrated local businesses in a ceremony held at the Broadway Theatre and hosted by TV presenter Ray Stubbs.

The awards, now in their fifth year, received a record number of entries, according to organisers.

The overall winner was Amber Foods Plus, which trades as Amber Bakery and Karaway. Paul Bishop, business relationship manager for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, said: "We had a very strong set of entries this year and it was a tough decision for our judges to reach a verdict.

"Once again we have seen that Barking and Dagenham has a fantastic range of businesses and that Barking and Dagenham is a great place to do business."
