Tue 18 June 2013, 5:15 pm

Star of BBC show The Apprentice, Kate Walsh (below), has officially opened Salon 2 at the Technical Skills Academy (TSA), part of Barking & Dagenham College.

The salon will enable students with aspirations to work in the health and beauty sector to be trained at industry standard facilities.

The Only Way Is Essex’s make up artist, Gini Bhogal, joined Walsh at the opening ceremony.

Lee Demmel, head of hair and beauty at the TSA said: “The new salon will provide our students with a true experience of what it is like working in a commercial salon.  It is experiences like this that will enhance their skills and better prepare them for future employment.

"Working with real clients builds confidence as well as people skills, which is really important if students want to succeed in the beauty industry," he added.
