A record number of businesses were formed in Dagenham in the first quarter of 2013, according to the latest Duport Business Confidence Report.
Figures showed that 267 companies were formed between January and March – more than in any other quarter in the area's history and a nine per cent rise from the same period in 2012.
Company formations have been rising in number in every quarter since the beginning of 2008.
Managing director of duport.co.uk, Peter Valaitis, said: "Dagenham is a very exciting place for new companies to set up. Huge regeneration projects, easy links to central London and the buzz that was created by the Olympics are attracting more and more new businesses to the area."
