Students at Barking & Dagenham College have received coaching in job-interview skills from some of the capital's leading employers at a series of workshops.
Big names offering their know-how to students at the events have included the likes of Costain Skanska, Mace, Vinci, Metro Bank, United House, and Willmott Dixon Construction.
The college said some of the employers had been so impressed with students’ performance that they had been lined up for real job interviews at the firms they were coached by.
Construction-training specialist Joe Brenan was one such employer, and is now hoping to create an apprenticeship place for one student.
“I thought the calibre of the students was excellent and they were a credit to Barking & Dagenham College,” he said.
The college said interview workshops took place throughout the year and were just one example of how it helped its students.
