Five prizes of £1,000 are on offer for community groups and organisations who believe their ideas can make a difference to residents in Barking and Dagenham.
A competition called Connected Communities has been launched to find community champions who are actively trying to make a difference.
The winners will be groups who can show they are strengthening the voice of people trapped in poverty or battling inequality, those that are bringing diverse communities together and groups offering advice to those in need.
The competition, run by Crowdfunder and non-profit organisation Trust for London, is asking entrants to write 100 words on their ideas and why they should win.
Each winner will receive a £1,000 contribution to a Crowdfunder campaign, as well as support and mentoring to create their own bespoke Crowdfunder initiative, and coverage in the local media.
More information on entering the competition is available here: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/connected-communities-barking-dagenham
Entries close on Monday, 29 July, and the winner will be announced in August.
